String Quartet No. 1 (Rondo in D Minor) is written in a simple three-part rondo form (A–B–C). Each section has its own distinct atmosphere yet remains closely connected to the others, forming a unified musical narrative.
The first section (A – Allegro) introduces lively rhythmic energy and strong thematic material. The second section (B – Adagio) turns inward, offering lyrical calm and expressive warmth. The final section (C – Moderato) restores balance, blending the vitality of the opening with the introspection of the middle part.
The work explores contrast and unity through shifts in tempo, texture, and emotional color. While rooted in classical form, it reflects a personal voice that values clarity, dialogue, and balance among the instruments. The interplay between motion and stillness gives the music a compact yet expressive character—an intimate journey through energy, reflection, and resolution.
