We all have a place in our lives that we have walked through many times, a place we know deeply,
where we feel at home.
This piece was inspired by a mountain of seven peaks in the Sierra de Madrid, Spain. It is a landscape
I have known since childhood, one that I have climbed and revisited countless times. Schmidt takes its
name from that path.
This piece is an exploration of discovery, a question, perhaps: if we look at nature differently, what
sounds, combinations, and structures reveal themselves? The idea is that these sounds already exist,
hidden and they only become audible when we learn to observe and listen in another way.
Schmidt is, therefore, a way of looking again at a familiar place , a place I have known all my life, and
listening for what lies within it, waiting to be found.
